La Bella Home Collections
The business was started in April 1995 under the name of Cottage Natural Crafts making all types of craft from natural materials collected from the garden, like Swagmen made from Banksia Plant to key hangers made from wood.
We started by going to the local markets, and as we grew we had to start purchasing some items from wholesalers to keep up with our sales.
In February 1999 we decided to move into a shop and sell our craft from one location. We chose Wonthaggi because of the location of the town to the surrounding towns and moved into a shop in the Plaza Arcade.
The business grew quickly and we started selling giftware and homeware and not our crafts so a name change was needed, and La Bella Home Collections was born on August 2003 and we now had two shops in the arcade.
After five years in the arcade, we were cramped with space (even with two shops) and needed to find another location. By this time, we had introduced our handmade designer fashion jewellery range and we were looking to expand into a shop on the main street of Wonthaggi.
Patience paid off and in October 2005 a shop in the front of the arcade became available and we were able to move both shops into one and have street frontage. We also added Internal Blinds and Interior Decorating advice free as part of the service.
With the change in the way people shop now, we decided to close both shops and concentrate on the online shopping market. By doing this we were able to expand our range and offer items including Towels, Throws, Cushions and a bedding range, Quilts and Covers, Sheets and Doona Covers and much more.
